Role Summary
Underwriters evaluate risk and determine whether an insurance company should issue a policy, at what price, and under what terms. They balance analytical judgment with business strategy, ensuring the insurer writes profitable, sustainable business across personal, commercial, life, health, and specialty lines. Underwriters serve as the gatekeepers of risk selection and play a central role in shaping an insurer’s portfolio.

- Assess applications, exposures, and risk characteristics using guidelines, data, and judgment
