Overview
Claims Trainees learn the fundamentals of investigating, evaluating, and resolving insurance claims. This entry‑level role provides structured training in coverage interpretation, customer communication, negotiation, and regulatory compliance. Trainees typically progress into roles handling auto, property, liability, or workers compensation claims.
Core Responsibilities
• Assist with claim intake, documentation, and initial investigation
• Review policy language to determine coverage applicability
• Gather statements, photos, estimates, and supporting evidence
• Communicate with policyholders, claimants, vendors, and attorneys
• Support adjusters with reserving, settlement preparation, and file documentation
• Learn state regulations, claims best practices, and ethical standards
• Participate in training programs, shadowing, and supervised case handling
