Property Claims Adjuster
A Property Claims Adjuster investigates and resolves claims involving damage to homes, buildings, and personal or commercial property. They assess the cause and extent of loss, determine coverage, and negotiate settlements with policyholders, contractors, and vendors. Property adjusters may work in the field, virtually, or in a hybrid model depending on the carrier.
Core Responsibilities
- Inspect damaged property in person or via virtual tools
- Determine cause of loss and verify coverage under the policy
- Estimate repair or replacement costs using industry tools
- Coordinate with contractors, restoration vendors, and engineers
- Communicate findings and settlement options to policyholders
- Negotiate fair settlements within authority limits
- Document claim files thoroughly and accurately
