Occupational Health & Safety Specialists are dedicated professionals who evaluate workplace environments, practices, and equipment to ensure the health and safety of employees. They design and implement programs to prevent injury, illness, and regulatory violations, often serving as the bridge between compliance mandates and operational realities. 🛠️ Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments for adherence to safety standards and regulations
• Analyze job hazards and develop preventive strategies to reduce injury and illness
• Design and implement occupational health programs, including ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and disease prevention
• Conduct safety training on topics such as emergency preparedness, hazardous material handling, and PPE usage
• Investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with HR, operations, and executive leadership to align safety goals with business objectives
• Monitor employee health status and manage occupational health services
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, CDC, and state-level regulations
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for audits, inspections, and internal reviews
• Stay current on emerging safety technologies and regulatory changes

 

🎓 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or a related field
• Certifications: CSP, CIH, OHST, CHST, REM
• Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills
• Experience conducting audits, training sessions, and risk assessments
• Ability to travel and work in varied environments including offices, factories, and construction sites
