Health Services Administrators (HSAs)—sometimes called Healthcare Administrators or Medical Services Managers—are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of healthcare facilities and ensuring that services are delivered efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage healthcare facility operations, including hospitals, clinics, or long-term care centers.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee staffing, including hiring, training, and evaluating medical and administrative personnel.
- Manage budgets and financial planning, including tracking expenditures and optimizing resource use.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare/Medicaid).
- Coordinate with medical staff and department heads to align services with patient needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data privacy and security.
- Plan for facility improvements, expansions, or technology upgrades.
