HR Manager with EHS Responsibilities

This dual-role professional oversees both human resources and environmental health & safety functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, employee well-being, and organizational efficiency. They manage recruitment, employee relations, and training while also implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating emergency response efforts.

🛠️ Responsibilities

Human Resources Duties:

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and performance management systems
  • Resolve employee relations issues and support conflict resolution
  • Maintain HRIS systems and personnel records
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and workplace regulations
  • Design and deliver training programs for staff development

EHS Duties:

  • Implement and monitor safety programs and compliance initiatives
  • Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions
  • Maintain OSHA logs and regulatory reporting
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning
  • Promote a culture of safety and wellness across departments
  • Coordinate EHS training and ensure documentation

 

🎓 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Safety Management, or related field
  • Certifications: SHRM-CP or PHR; ASP or OSHA 30 preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in HR with exposure to EHS responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with HRIS and incident tracking systems
