This dual-role professional oversees both human resources and environmental health & safety functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, employee well-being, and organizational efficiency. They manage recruitment, employee relations, and training while also implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating emergency response efforts.
The position demands a unique blend of interpersonal acumen, regulatory knowledge, and operational oversight.
🛠️ Responsibilities
Human Resources Duties:
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
- Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and performance management systems
- Resolve employee relations issues and support conflict resolution
- Maintain HRIS systems and personnel records
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and workplace regulations
- Design and deliver training programs for staff development
EHS Duties:
- Implement and monitor safety programs and compliance initiatives
- Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions
- Maintain OSHA logs and regulatory reporting
- Lead emergency preparedness and response planning
- Promote a culture of safety and wellness across departments
- Coordinate EHS training and ensure documentation
🎓 Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Safety Management, or related field
- Certifications: SHRM-CP or PHR; ASP or OSHA 30 preferred
- 5+ years of experience in HR with exposure to EHS responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of employment law and safety regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with HRIS and incident tracking systems
