Their work is essential for keeping organizations aligned with federal COBRA regulations and avoiding costly penalties.

🧾 Key Responsibilities

• Notification Management: Send timely COBRA election notices to eligible individuals within required legal timeframes (typically 14–45 days).
• Enrollment Processing: Handle COBRA enrollments, including setting up accounts, issuing plan documents, and coordinating with insurance carriers.
• Premium Administration: Collect and process premium payments, manage grace periods, and handle cancellations or reinstatements.
• Compliance Oversight: Ensure all actions comply with COBRA, HIPAA, and IRS regulations, including issuing required notices and maintaining documentation.
• Customer Support: Respond to inquiries from former employees, beneficiaries, and employers regarding coverage, payments, and deadlines.
• Reporting & Auditing: Generate reports for internal use and external audits, and track key metrics like enrollment rates and payment status.
