Military Logistics Officers are strategic planners and operational executors responsible for ensuring that personnel, equipment, and supplies are available where and when they’re needed. From battlefield sustainment to base operations, they manage the full spectrum of logistics functions—supply, transportation, maintenance, medical support, and field services. Their work directly impacts mission readiness, troop safety, and operational success.
This role demands leadership, adaptability, and a deep understanding of military logistics systems, often under high-pressure and rapidly changing conditions.
🛠️ Responsibilities
- Develop and execute logistics plans for deployment, sustainment, and recovery operations
- Oversee supply chain functions including procurement, inventory, and distribution of equipment, fuel, food, and ammunition
- Manage transportation assets and coordinate movement of personnel and cargo
- Supervise maintenance operations for vehicles, weapons, and support systems
- Ensure compliance with military regulations, safety standards, and readiness protocols
- Collaborate with joint staff, battalion commanders, and external agencies
- Monitor usage data and forecast resource needs for missions and training exercises
- Lead logistics teams and train junior personnel in operational procedures
- Prepare reports and briefings for senior leadership and mission planning
- Support emergency response and contingency operations
🎓 Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration
- Completion of Officer Candidate School (OCS) and military logistics training
- Certifications: CSCP, PMP, SCPro, REM (optional for civilian transition)
- Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Ability to operate in austere environments and manage complex logistical networks
