AWMA® – Accredited Wealth Management Advisor is an advanced designation offered by the College for Financial Planning® – A Kaplan Company. It is designed for experienced financial professionals who serve high-net-worth clients and seek deeper expertise in wealth preservation, growth, and transfer strategies.

The AWMA® program covers behavioral finance, succession and exit planning, small business owner considerations, and fiduciary and regulatory issues. It equips advisors to optimize investment portfolios while minimizing volatility and aligning strategies with client goals. Graduates often work with executives, entrepreneurs, and multi-generational families navigating complex financial landscapes.

📚 Requirements

  • Online self-study program with OnDemand video lectures, reading assignments, and quizzes
  • Closed-book final exam; must be completed within 120 days of enrollment
  • Estimated study time: 100–120 hours
  • No formal prerequisites; recommended for advisors with prior planning or investment experience
  • Continuing education: 16 hours every two years
