AES – Automated Examination Specialist is a specialized designation offered by the Society of Financial Examiners (SOFE). 📚 Requirements
- Successful completion of SOFE exams:
- AFE1 – Life and Health Insurance Fundamentals
- AFE2 – Property and Liability Insurance Fundamentals
- AES Proficiency Exam (50 questions, 180 minutes)
- Completion of the CISA exam from ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association)
- Minimum of 3,200 hours of IT examination experience using NAIC Exhibit C methodology
- Up to 1,600 hours of experience credit may be granted for:
- Active CFE designation – 400 hours
- Active CISA designation – 800 hours
- Bachelor’s in IT – 400 hours; Master’s in IT – 600 hours
- SOFE membership in good standing (General Member, AFE, or CFE)
- Formal application approved by SOFE’s AES and Executive Committees
