International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE)
📜 Designation Highlights
- ACI – Associate in Captive Insurance: ICCIE’s flagship designation, designed for professionals working in captive insurance, risk finance, and alternative risk transfer.
🧭 Overview
The International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) is the premier education and credentialing body for the captive insurance industry. Founded in 2004 with support from the Vermont Captive Insurance Association and other industry leaders, ICCIE was created to address the lack of formal training and professional standards in the rapidly growing captive sector.
ICCIE offers online, instructor-led courses that combine academic rigor with practical application. Its curriculum is designed for captive managers, risk professionals, regulators, and service providers seeking to deepen their expertise in captive formation, governance, finance, and regulatory compliance. ICCIE’s designation and certificate programs are domicile-neutral and globally accessible.
🤝 Community & Support
ICCIE supports a global network of captive professionals through its alumni community, webinars, and continuing education offerings. The organization partners with leading captive associations—including VCIA, CICA, RIMS, and ASHRM—to offer scholarships and promote industry-wide standards. ICCIE also hosts the Captive Education Leader Award and maintains a Captive Career Center to support professional growth.
